Summer Reading Program - Week 1
Program Description: In one of our favorite programs of the Summer, CCL’s own Judy Curtis will assist participants in making their very own garden cake in a cup! Then kids will join CCL staff in making a mini fairy garden full of detail, color, and magic.

Discover a world where owls turn pink, and tree trunks can blink in “Color Our World!”. In partnership with the Vermont Summer Reading Program, meet three of our animal ambassadors, and learn how nature’s palette can startle, impress, and even fool the eye! Witness the rainbow of techniques our wildlife uses to hunt, hide, and survive in this program geared towards families and children of all ages!

Bike Day at the Library!
Get ready for summer bike riding and decorate your bike for the 4th of July at this fun and informative event for all ages! The Carpenter-Carse Library parking lot will be sectioned off for bike riders to drop in and decorate bikes for the 4th, enjoy snacks, visit with friends, and practice bike riding skills that may have grown rusty. Students will receive each month’s book from the library then meet on the fourth Thursday (November and December meetings will be held on the third Thursday) of the month to engage in a fun discussion, eat snacks, hang out with friends, and decide what to read next! Reptiles and Amphibians of Chittenden County
Calling all herp enthusiasts! Ever wonder which reptiles and amphibians can be found in our area? Herpetologist Kate Kelly will share some of the common reptiles and amphibians found in Chittenden County, especially Hinesburg. Her talk will cover species identification, natural history, and conservation. Kate works with the Vermont Reptile and Amphibian Atlas and is chair of the Hinesburg Conservation Commission.

Adopt-A-Shelter-Pet Day Puppy Party
To help bring awareness to National Adopt-A-Shelter-Pet Day, we are having an after school Puppy Adoption Party (the stuffie kind of course)! Kids ages 4-9 can sign up to hear a story about pet adoption, have a puppy themed snack, and choose their own puppy stuffie to take home. Every participant can also make a new collar for their puppy and decorate a pet carrier. This event is free and space is limited. Email Jen to sign up.

Spring Break Zumba® Kids Dance Party
If you're a kid between the ages of 7-11 and you love music and dance, this is the Spring Break activity for you! Zumba® Kids is a high-energy dance party that combines movement, music, and community with kid-friendly routines set to international beats. Kids love the fun and creativity, while parents appreciate the benefits- boosting focus, confidence, coordination, and overall well-being. This free library event is a great way to try Zumba® and explore all it has to offer. Our Zumba® Kids Dance Party is taught by certified instructor Linda Segovia Wise, and you can sign up for your spot by emailing Jen.
