Library After-school programming
After-school programs at Carpenter-Carse Library:
Ongoing themed Wednesday afternoon programs that run for four - six week periods
Special one-time events and programs on Friday afternoons each month
Dungeons and Dragons Club that meets every Thursday when school is in session
Registration in after-school programs
Library programs are always free of charge, but registration in each program is required; in order to attend any of the after-school programs at CCL, parents or caregivers must sign students up with the programming coordinator. Please pay attention to individual program descriptions, dates, and age limits before contacting a programming coordinator. Our after-school programs fill up very fast, and moving forward, we will give priority to Hinesburg students when space is limited.
Bus transportation
In order to create greater accessibility to after-school programs, CCL works closely with Hinesburg Community School (HCS) to provide school bus transportation to all after-school programs. After registering for a library after-school program, parents have the option of contacting the front office staff at HCS to arrange bus transportation for special events as well as ongoing after-school programs.
Library Waivers
Once your child is registered for a program, you will be asked to complete a library participation waiver and then update library staff regarding emergency contact information. Please keep in mind that students cannot ride the bus to CCL for an after-school program without a signed participation waiver on file at the library.
Snack Donations
After-school snacks are always served at each program, and we ask families to please consider donating a nut-free, shelf stable bag or box of snacks to the library. Attendance at after-school programs has greatly increased over the last few years, but our programming budget has not! So please help us dedicate our budget to presenters, performers, and materials by helping out with snacks when you can. Thank you!
