Discussion Groups at CCL

Currently Carpenter-Carse Library offers two book discussion groups that meet once a month. Participants are welcome to attend one-off meetings to discuss a specific title, or try to join on a regular basis.

Interested in joining a future meeting? Email library@carpentercarse.org for more details and/or to request a copy of an upcoming title. If you’re curious about some past selections, click here to see a list of discussion picks for both current and past groups.

Mystery Book Group

The Mystery Book Group meets the second Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. — and as the name suggests, these meetings will each focus on a different mystery book, though the tones each month can span from thrillers to more “cozy” fare. This group meets in-person at the library, outdoors when weather permits.

To Be Read: an any-book discussion group- (not currently meeting)

Is your “TBR” list in need of some fresh recommendations? Do you gush about your recent reads to your barista and hairdresser? Ever read a book so bad, you just need to complain about it?

Join like-minded readers on the 4th Tuesday of the month, 5:30 - 6:30pm, to chat about books you’ve read, books you want to read, books that made you ugly cry, and anything in between! Maybe you’ll even leave the library with a new rec in hand.

No monthly commitment or reading required to participate.
