Friends of the Carpenter-Carse Library, Inc.
The purposes of the Friends of the Carpenter-Carse Library, Inc. (FCCL) are to provide a medium to share enthusiasm for books, to focus public attention on the library, to stimulate the use of library resources and services, to support the librarian and the board in developing services and facilities, to raise funds and to encourage volunteerism at the library.  Friends of the Carpenter-Carse Library is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Fourth of July book sale has historically been the main fund raiser for the library, bringing in $1500 to $2500 in recent years.  Next summer the FCCL plan to organize a Tour of Hinesburg gardens in addition to the annual book sale.  Future possible fundraising events are an adult spelling bee or a .5 K race. This holiday season, Friends will encourage donations of books and resources in lieu of gifts to coordinate with the in-house book sale and an early December sing-along program.  Carpenter-Carse book bags are available at the library for $10 each.

At their September meeting, FCCL members voted to fund the following items from the Library director’s wish list: A Sunshine Fund for staff and volunteers, three Kindle Fires and two iPads.  All residents and library patrons are encouraged to join the Friends.  To join, you can come to our next meeting on XX/XX/2019 or put your name on our email list by sending an email to jean.thompson@sbcglobal.net
