CANCELLED-Personal Technology Help Group

Kenneth Russell, personal technology coach and helper, will lead you in a group exploration of facing the common frustration points in using our personal technology:  smartphones, computers, tablets, smart TVs, etc.

Which of you cringes when you hear the word "password"  or 2-step verification?  It's a wonderful but demanding thing having all this fantastic technology.  Let's get together, grumble a bit about those frustration points and then find some solutions...step by step...in a fun, light setting.

No problem is too small. Bring your devices!

Contact library@carpentercarse.org to RSVP.

Poems in Performance: A Cure for Poemphobia

Poems in Performance: A Cure for Poemphobia

Geof Hewitt will be speaking at the Carpenter-Carse Library on “Poems in Performance: A Cure for Poemphobia” during National Poetry Month. In the past fifty years, a magical loosening of “poetry” has opened doors for reluctant readers, and the performance of poems in “poetry slams” has attracted new audiences. The assumption of sing-song or anticipation of hidden metaphors no longer applies.

In this informal talk, slam poet Geof Hewitt will offer poems that defy stereotype, and discuss strategies for finding more.

This talk is free, open to the public, and accessible to those with disabilities. For more information, contact Rob at 802.482.2878 or rob@carpentercarse.org

“Poems in Performance: A Cure for Poemphobia.” is a Vermont Humanities program hosted by Carpenter-Carse Library. (Supported in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of the NEH or Vermont Humanities.)
